Zappala Quarries prides itself on being a 100% locally owned and operated. A blue metal quarry supplying high quality materials for road, landscaping and construction projects throughout Far North Queensland. 

The quarry operates from  Maitland Road,  Gordonvale . The Quarry is ideally situated to service areas in Cairns, as far south as Tully through to the Northern Beaches

Backed by more than 40years experience, Dino and Stella Zappala are the sole proprietors of Zappala Quarries. We use local employees, subcontractors and businesses and therefore the benefits go straight back into the local economy. We’ve found that a good many of our clients rely on us because we are local. From its early beginnings of a virgin quarry,  years of hard work and long hours has seen this quarry grow substantially.  The Quarry boosts resources of greater than 45 million tonnes, which includes  hard rock and  building materials.



Zappala Quarries is dedicated to providing everyone, from the local builder or large construction company with the very best of products. From 10 tonne through to multi thousand tonnes per day, Zappala Quarries has the resources readily available. The company’s network of sub contract haulage companies, we can arrange your haulage requirement. Alternatively customers are welcome to arrange 3^rd party haulage or utilise their own resources.

We maintain TMR Quarry Registration for quality you can trust. These include:
